Amaretto Sour

Call me a bad parent if you want, but this was our youngest daughter’s first cocktail that she learned to really enjoy. It’s a keeper. Pro tip: Don’t skimp on good citrus.
Ingredients
Single Serving
- 2 oz amaretto
- 1 oz fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 oz simple (1:1) syrup
- 1 dash Angostura bitters
- Garnish: brandied cherry
Batch Size
If you have a group, or just want to prep to have some on hand, this will make 6 servings:
- 12 oz Lazzaroni amaretto
- 6 oz fresh lemon juice
- 1 1/2 oz simple syrup (page 45)
- 6 dashs Angostura bitters
Instructions
- Shake all the ingredients with ice.
- Strain into a double old-fashioned glass over 1 large ice cube.
- Garnish with the cherry on a cocktail pick.
Variants
- Replace lemon juice with 1/2 lemon, 1/2 lime, for a more round and complex flavor.
