I do a lot of projects in my down-time. They don’t move quickly, and some of them never see the light of day (though even Ziyal was something to someone I’m sure), but I love all the things I make whether they’re functional, asthetic, or somewhere in between.
Below is hardly exhaustive, but it does show off some of the pieces I’m more proud of.
Crochet
Fetching (Gloves)
unknownMy first (remembered) completed crochet project, made with Red Heart Super Saver yarn in bright orange.

Mosaics (Pillow)
2024/10/26A pillow made from the same material as the Girasole blanket, plus white and brown. One side is a reverse of the other to hopefully enable a bit more versatility in styling. Of course, we changed to a gray couch shortly thereafter, at which point it all clashed.

Hubble the Squid
2020/08/20Made in a day, this popular little guy was a quick one made from a hand-me-down project leftover from my MIL. I gave him slightly more realistic tentacles in hopes of personalizing him a smidge.

Cross Stitch
Kuzko's Poison
2026/01/05A cross stitch of Kuzko’s poison from The Emperor’s New Groove, made for a friend who loves the movie. Pattern modified for a bit more flash, and an over-the-top frame added for good measure.

Spiderweb

Fox in Leaves
2025/10/18An oft-duplicated pattern of a fox making up trees and leaves. Forgive the blue dots; it’s still yet to be washed, framed, and hung on the wall.

Hylean Crest

Ziyal
2014/11/23Yes, those colors are accurate. No, I’m not brave enough to wear it. 😂 After nearly a decade sitting in a drawer, it was donated for some other brave soul to hopefully give it a good home.

Girasole
2012/07//14Originally intended as a shawl, I used much too big yarn in acrylic and instead got myself a lacey blanket. This one has been around a long time and gets love on sick days even now.

Spirogyra
2011/11/14Lightweight fingerless gloves in an acryic / wool blend yarn. The pattern name always reminds me of my grandfather, who was a big fan of the British band of the same name.
